About Us
Join ASI/BACC, a trusted heavy-civil partner to B. Anthony Construction Corp. delivers bridges, roadways, landfills, dams, and other major infrastructure in the Tri-State area. We're looking for a hands-on Estimator who can produce accurate, competitive estimates, lead bid strategy.
Position Summary
Prepare end-to-end cost estimates and proposals for complex heavy civil projects (earthwork, drainage, bridges, utilities, roadwork). Reporting to the Chief Estimator, you'll lead bid efforts, coordinate subcontractor/vendor pricing, use industry estimating tools (HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK), and help drive winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complete estimating packages: quantity takeoffs, unit pricing, cost breakdowns, and written proposal narratives for assigned projects.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, geotechnical, and contract documents to define scope and quantities.
- Obtain and evaluate competitive bids from subcontractors and vendors; ensure bid coverage and risk mitigation.
- Work with the Estimating team to set the bid strategy, identify key risk items, contingency, and alternatives.
- Run and validate models using HCSS HeavyBid and AGTEK; produce consistent estimating deliverables.
- Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and constructability reviews; document field observations that impact price/schedule.
- Enforce estimating standards and QA/QC.
- Maintain and analyze historical cost databases to improve accuracy and forecasting.
- Prepare bid schedules, cost summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
