What You'll Do
- Lead job cost tracking and field cost control for the I-81 Viaduct Project Phase 2, Contract 6, ensuring project costs are captured accurately and reported in a timely, decision-ready format.
- Partner with superintendents, project managers, and field teams to monitor production, track installed quantities, review labor and equipment costs, and identify cost risks early.
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts, budget-to-actual analyses, and project performance reporting that give leadership clear visibility into financial status.
- Track committed costs, support change management, and maintain reliable forecasting so project leaders can see the current position and projected financial outcomes.
- Use HCSS HeavyJob and Vista to strengthen cost accuracy, reporting discipline, and alignment between field operations and accounting, while continuously improving project controls processes.
What Success Looks Like
- Within 6 to 12 months, you have established reliable, consistent cost reporting that provides the project team with a clear, timely view of current performance and forecasted results.
- Field production, installed quantities, labor and equipment costs, and accounting data are aligned, reducing discrepancies and rework in financial reporting.
- Budget variances and cost trends are identified early enough for leadership to take corrective action, helping protect project margin and schedule.
- You are recognized as a trusted partner to operations and project leadership by turning field and financial data into practical, actionable insight and reinforcing cost discipline across the project.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in project controls, job cost management, project accounting, or construction cost tracking on large-scale projects.
- Background supporting heavy civil, highway, bridge, infrastructure, or other large construction projects, with solid knowledge of budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, committed costs, and financial controls.
- Ability to work confidently with field teams and senior leadership, communicate clearly, and raise concerns with professionalism and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with HCSS HeavyJob and Vista, or the ability to quickly become proficient in similar construction costing and accounting systems; relevant credentials (CCP, PSP, EVP, PMP, CPA) or a degree in business, accounting, construction management, finance, or a related field are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time salaried position with a compensation range of $130,000 to $165,000 USD per year.

- Field-based role in Syracuse, New York on the I-81 Viaduct Project Phase 2, Contract 6, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
